Respiratory Therapy

Pulmonary Function Testing
Dr. Tiomico-Trahan has incorporated this simple device to test for multiple
breathing problems such as asthma, bronchitis, COPD, and pneumonia. For
patients with a history of smoking or asbestosis, it provides us specifics as to lung
capacity and possible impending problems amongst other serious situations.
This test generally takes 7-10 minutes within our office and results will be
provided immediately by the providers, so treatment can begin promptly, if
necessary. When appropriate, our physicians may require for nebulizer (breathing)
treatments to aide the patient in breathing more effectively and begin a specialized
treatment regimen.
Breathing Thoughts
A report by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) specified in 2003, over 105,000
men and 83,000 women were diagnosed with lung cancer. In addition, data from
the same year showed, over 89,000 men and 68,000 women died from lung
cancer. Lung cancer is the number one cancer in the US. In most cases, it can
be limited by not smoking or causing second hand smoke.

For more information concerning respiratory problems and diseases contact your
